My Purse

Labor Day weekend 2009, I was granted this desirable gift  and many a gawker envied my new style.  I might even say that some were jealous of my birthday gift.  For several months and through many trials this purse has traveled with me and carried myriad items to make my life easier.

 It is with great sorrow that I have to inform said bag of it's end of use.  This specially designed and formulated purse was created by one mastermind Jodi Brown .  This gorgeous bag received so many compliments from friends and strangers alike.  It was a conversation starter...

Here is the purse...

It has a unique pocket inside that is in a coordinating fabric.  She used a new green bedsheet to line the inside of the purse and added a decorative button to the outside.  My friend is moving to Miami in a couple weeks, and she is in need of ways to earn money...anyone want to commission the making of a one-of-a-kind purse so that you too may be envied?

Catching Up

Mariner's Game 4-30-10

Paul purchased tickets for this game a few months back. We had a fun time riding the bus down to Seattle and we had a great view of Ichiro and Gutierrez. But unfortunately, they lost, in inning 12 or so...but regardless a great adventure. Here are a couple of pics from our date:

Then we celebrated the big 33 for Paul on 5-2 with his family and my mom.  Here are pics of the big day.  I must've been too busy taking pics that there are none of me.  I'ts probably better that way.

Paul got $ for the bike rack (see earlier post), and an expansion pack for his new game. Memoir 44.

 In all it was a fun day.  We enjoyed a delicious meal and watched a lame Chuck Norris Movie.   It was fun although the movie wasn't my cup of tea...you gotta respect the birthday boy's wishes!

Like winning the lottery

Got to work this morning. Rushing in, last day of testing, feeling a little tired---maybe a cold, maybe allergies.

Get a call and my teaching partner Shauna has brought me a delicious black/white hot chocolate from her killer coffee stand. ( I would give a shout out, but I can't remember the name of the place... 164th and Larch Way I think??) It was divine!

Then we are chatting and she asks if I have plans for the weekend. I said nah, probably not...she said, do you want plans? and gave me two tickets to the Mariner's game this weekend for Paul and I! She won a drawing at her doctors office and they aren't big baseball fans, so they decided Paul and I needed a date! So fun...she's such a giver! I'm stoked. Hopefully they'll win! It has been quite the losing season. It's all about the baseball experience.

Speaking of excitement. I am going to post a few of the other exciting events that have gone on in the past month that I've yet to blog about.

Testing, testy, tired, and too busy

These last few weeks has been interesting at both work and in our lives. When I say interesting feel free to read into that in any way you would like...we've experienced all emotions and scenarios you can think of.

A recent summary:

At work: week 2 of state testing. I don't dare share my real feelings, but needless to say my tired little sixies tried their best--but no talking or movement from 8:15 to 11:15 (or longer if needbe) is hard for anyone especially if you are 11 or 12.

At home: Paul got our Yakima "High Roller" bike rack all assembled and put on the Super Scion. The name does relate to what is required to purchase such an accessory. But it was for Paul's birthday and some of the parts were generously donated from Mike and Teresa (Paul's Parents) from their old bike rack. We are looking forward to some of the best bike rides to come... it is part of our super plan. Some of our greatest memories together are riding bikes in Snohomish along the river trail and through town. The through town part is hard for me...but Paul pushes me to not be afraid of riding in traffic. He reminds me "this is Snohomish not downtown Everett."

Mom stayed with us for a few nights. We had fun. Let's see, we had a BBQ on Sunday and also had some NCIS marathoning.

Gibbs is mom's favorite. Paul loves DiNozzo, I'm a fan of all characters --especially the ladies--Katelyn, Ziva, but am partial to Abby maybe because of how she walks the line with her outlandish outfits and no-nonsense personality.

On Monday I had a meeting go late and so we decided to eat at Shake 'N Go instead of eating in. Mom, Paul, and I all got stuffed to the top and we decided that if we go again, we will be ordering kids meals.

Last night we played WII Super Mario. Paul had been trading games waiting to procure it for me, I'm not sure if he is pleased now though because I'm so "into" the game I think it freaks him out a bit.

Mom went back home to her Condo this morning when Paul and I went to work. We plan on holding her hostage again soon.

PS. I may have a new obsession with Lady Gaga, thanks to Paulie for downloading the album for me. It reminds me of good times with my dearest girlfriend--Downtown Jodi Brown! :)

It's going to be okay.

There are times when I get so overwhelmed and feel like I'll never, be, do or accomplish all that I want/need/desire....and although that's true, I'm realizing that it is still okay to live a little! I'm looking forward to our weekend. Paul's birthday is on Sunday and he has a fun filled weekend! Perhaps I'll be better at bringing the camera this time.

Speaking of things I love...

So I found that Paul has a BUNCH of pictures on his computer that I haven't seen since they were taken on his camera! Hence this post. While viewing, I came across a few that reminded me of really good times with my family... circa 2008. Not that I haven't had good times since then...well you know, I really shouldn't have to explain :) I just wanted to share my memories.

Maybe I'll work my way backwards on my blog...telling the past as I tell the present, who knows, maybe I'll put some wedding pics up since most people haven't even seen any of them!

Really, I guess I just wanted to share that I am so grateful for my family--all of my family. Everyone (even those not pictured at this time due to time constraints on the posting). They mean everything to me. I am so grateful to know that this life is not the end...
